”OLD BLUE“ is an Original Authentic 1935 Austin 12/4 low loader London Taxi. Finished in the blue/ black livery of the “London Carriage Company”. Fitted with a Strachan ”landaulet“ fold down rear hood, this unique feature gives the pleasures of an open top carriage in fine weather or a cosy and intimate interior in less favourable conditions. ”OLD BLUE“ first saw service on the streets of London in 1935 and continued working through the Blitz and post war years until 1953 when he was exported to Canada as a souvenir of London. In 1993 he was repatriated and underwent a total and highly professional restoration. Subsequent to OLD BLUE‘s re–birth, he has worked regularly as a wedding hire car giving a unique and memorable experience to many couples on their Special Day. |
